Team Lead Feed Production

We are looking for a business-oriented team leader of our Aquaculture Feed Production R&D.  In this team you will work together with enthusiastic researchers to bring the right solutions related to feed production for farmed fish and shrimp. As Team Lead, you will oversee the day-to-day activities of the team and ensure that resources are put in the right place and are developed further. Next to that you will be responsible for some (technical) projects as well. 

Our Feed Production R&D focus is responsible for increasing our market share and margins through product development, lower production costs, raw material valorization, increased raw material choice and improve the physical product quality. You will be part of the leadership team of R&D Science and report to the R&D Director (Science), Charles McGurk.

Main tasks include:

• Lead and supervise a team of experts, including recruitment and development of staff

• Act as member of the R&D Leadership Team focusing on business priorities and strategy alignment

• Key role in development and function of Skretting’s Feed Production R&D team including compliance with authorities and certification standards in addition to budget responsibilities

• Responsible for the project portfolio of the research team, including regular follow-up and decision making with the dedicated team members

• Develop and steer implementation of innovative solutions that increase our efficiency and improve our capability to produce aquaculture diets utilising novel ingredients and technologies

• Participate in global teams and develop strong networks between Skretting Innovation/R&D and other Nutreco companies and suppliers. Provide technical support in aqua feed production to all relevant Business Units.

• Communicate key improvement areas related to relevant stakeholders within Skretting and externally

• Pro-actively run the people agenda for the department.

• Develop and maintain a network of research institutes and suppliers in the areas of feed production, process technology and raw materials together with the Feed Production team.

• Prepare and follow up on forecast and budget for the feed production department.

• Develop, document, maintain and ensure implementation of global standard operating procedures and guidelines in aqua feed production.

What you bring / Qualifications:

• PhD in a relevant discipline and 5 years of business and/or research experience

• Strong understanding of the area of expertise (Aquaculture Feed Production)

• Proven record of innovative achievements within the area of expertise

• Management experience is preferable, but not a requirement

• Fluency in English: written and oral
